A Christmas party venue in King’s Cross for larger teams
Studio One at The Derby is a private event space covering the whole first floor of Derbyshire House, within walking distance of King’s Cross and St Pancras International. For a work Christmas party, it can be hired in full or one wing at a time, with Studio East holding up to 110 guests for a reception and catering prepared in-house by our own kitchen and bakery.
Studio One at a glance
Studio One is the largest and most versatile space at The Derby. It’s bright and modern, filled with natural light, and divided into two wings: Studio East and Studio West. You can hire the whole floor or reserve either wing on its own, depending on the nature of your event.
The two wings share a similar design and function, but they aren’t identical, so capacities vary slightly between them:

Dinner in one wing, drinks in the other
Because Studio One has two wings, the evening can move between them. One way to use the space is a seated dinner in Studio East with an open bar and reception in Studio West, so the party flows from one to the other through the evening.
The wings can stay open so guests move freely between them, or they can be closed off for complete privacy, which also lets separate activities run at the same time. Acoustic curtains allow the space to be divided further.
Food from our own kitchen
Everything at The Derby is prepared in-house using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and all breads and pastries are baked daily in our own bakery. For evening events and private dinners, our dinner catering offers a more refined experience, and our kitchen teams can adapt the menu to your timings, dietary requirements and event format.
Making the evening your own
Studio One can be fully personalised and dressed to reflect the character of your event. For entertainment, we can collaborate with third-party providers on experiences such as casino tables, live performances or an immersive murder mystery evening.
The room also has built-in AV and screens, along with projectors and sound systems, so a presentation can be part of the occasion. Studio One is well suited to a presentation followed by an informal dinner.

The Derby is at Derbyshire House, St Chad’s Street, London WC1H 8AG. King’s Cross and St Pancras International are both within walking distance, with connections to central London, Eurostar, London’s airports and the rest of the UK.
For a smaller Christmas gathering
If your group is smaller, Hokus Pokus is our underground bar beneath King’s Cross at The Megaro Hotel. It has its own Christmas party options, with semi-private and exclusive hire available.
