Arriving at The California London made simple
The California London is at 4–8 Belgrove Street, King’s Cross, London WC1H 8AB. St. Pancras International is a two-minute walk away and King’s Cross station is moments from the front door. If you’re arriving by rail, by Eurostar, or by Tube, you’re already close.
This page is for guests who want to know exactly how to find the hotel before they travel — and what to expect when they get there.
Finding the hotel
Belgrove Street runs parallel to the eastern side of King’s Cross station, just off Euston Road. The California occupies four Georgian townhouses on that street. It’s a quieter address than the immediate station forecourt, which means it’s easy to walk past if you’re not looking for it — so the postcode is worth having to hand.
The simplest orientation: exit King’s Cross or St. Pancras onto Euston Road, cross the road and turn right. Belgrove Street is immediately off Euston Road on the left. The hotel entrance is on Belgrove Street. If you’re using a map app, 4–8 Belgrove Street WC1H 8AB will bring you directly to the door.
Arriving by train or Eurostar
Both King’s Cross and St. Pancras International are a two-minute walk. Eurostar passengers exiting St. Pancras will find the hotel directly accessible via Belgrove Street without needing to cross any major junctions. Domestic rail arrivals into King’s Cross exit onto the station forecourt facing Euston Road, from where Belgrove Street is a short walk to the left.
Arriving by Tube
King’s Cross St. Pancras Underground station serves six lines: the Circle, Hammersmith and City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern and Victoria. All exits bring you out in the immediate vicinity of the two mainline stations. From any of the exits, The California is within a short walk. Follow signs for King’s Cross or St. Pancras and Belgrove Street is just off the main road.
Arriving from the airports
From Heathrow, the Piccadilly line runs direct to King’s Cross St. Pancras and takes around an hour by public transport. From Gatwick, the Thameslink service to St. Pancras International takes around 45 minutes. Both routes deposit you at or adjacent to the hotel without any cross-city transfer needed.
For guests arriving by taxi or ride-hailing app, the drop-off address is 4–8 Belgrove Street, WC1H 8AB. The street is accessible and the hotel entrance is clearly marked.
Arriving by car
Belgrove Street is a short turn off Euston Road. There is no on-site parking at The California. The King’s Cross area falls within the Congestion Charge zone and the Ultra Low Emission Zone, both of which apply to most vehicles. It’s worth checking the relevant charges and planning nearby parking in advance if you’re driving.
On arrival at the hotel
Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, so there’s no window for arrivals or check-in. The team can assist with luggage on arrival and departure. One practical note: The California is set across four interconnected Georgian townhouses with original staircases and no lift. If that’s a consideration for your group, it’s worth mentioning at the time of booking.
The bar and lounge is accessible from reception and is a straightforward first stop after a journey — warm pastries, drinks, somewhere to sit and regroup before heading to your room or out into the city.
The California is part of The Megaro Collection, which includes two sibling hotels and a range of dining and drinks venues in the same King’s Cross neighbourhood.
