Can you visit Spagnoletti without staying over?

Yes, absolutely. You don’t need to be staying at The Megaro, or at any of the collection’s hotels, to eat at Spagnoletti. It’s an all-day Italian restaurant at 23 Euston Road, opposite King’s Cross and St Pancras, and it’s open to anyone from breakfast through to dinner. Here’s what to know before you book.

The kitchen runs to 9.30pm from Sunday to Thursday, and to 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday, so a late booking works best at the end of the week. The 7am weekday start is the detail worth remembering if you’ve got an early train, since a proper breakfast opposite the concourse beats a station pastry.

Booking a table

Reservations go through the booking system on our site, and walk-ins are welcome when there’s space. For groups of seven or more, book directly with the team rather than online, so we can seat you properly. How the menu works

The menu is built around sharing, which changes how you order. It splits into small plates and large plates: the small plates are the opening moves, antipasti and lighter dishes to anchor the table while everything else arrives, and the larger plates are meant for the middle rather than in front of one person.
Handcrafted pasta is the core of what the kitchen does, so it’s worth building the order around it. Three to four plates per person is a useful starting point, and the kitchen would rather you ordered in rounds than tried to get it all right at once.

Alongside the all-day menu there’s a separate breakfast menu, a dessert menu, a drinks list and a wine list, plus a dedicated private dining menu. You can read them all on the Spagnoletti menu page before you come.

Coming for a group or an occasion

The mezzanine gives you a semi-private space for up to 30 guests, which suits a birthday, a team dinner or a family gathering without taking over the whole restaurant. For something larger, the wider mezzanine area is available for private events for up to 60.

Both need arranging with the team rather than booking online, and the private dining menu is set up specifically for these.

Making an evening of it

If you’d like to carry on afterwards, Hokus Pokus is downstairs at 1 Belgrove Street, beneath The Megaro, a two minute walk from the restaurant. It’s an underground cocktail bar with Victorian apothecary details and a steampunk edge, serving botanical concoctions and craft cocktails, and it’s open to everyone rather than hotel guests alone. Dinner opposite the station followed by a cocktail underground makes a good evening out of a night when you’re not staying anywhere at all, and both are close enough to the stations that you can still make a late train home.
